    Galatasaray want Cisse

Newcastle are facing a battle to keep hold of top scorer Papiss Cisse in January.

Turkish giants Galatasaray lead the chase for the Senegalese striker who is currently away on African Nations Cup duty.

Cisse, 29, is a popular choice among Galatasaray fans as the Turkish club look to bring in reinforcements and have cash to spend during the window.

But there has also been interest from Swansea and the Middle East while scouts have been lurking at the African Nations Cup as they believe Newcastle may be tempted to sell.

Former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew was also linked with a move for in-demand Cisse who could be the big-name departure this January.

Cisse has scored nine goals this season and has two and a half years left on his current Newcastle contract.

Spurs and Villa eyeing young goalkeeper

Crewe keeper Ben Garratt is a January target for Aston Villa and Tottenham.

Former England Youth international Garratt, 20, has already established himself as the club’s first choice and is one of the best young keeper prospects outside the top flight.

That has attracted major interest from the Premier League and both Villa and Tottenham are trying to snap him up this month.

Villa are looking for a young keeper as long term competition for No1 Brad Guzan while Spurs are also in the market.

Spurs tried to sign Karl Darlow before Newcastle signed him from Nottingham Forest where he has now gone back on loan.

They want a young English keeper and Garratt fits the bill perfectly and they may even consider a loan back option.

    Arsenal target Dortmund man

Arsenal have made Borussia Dortmund a £3.7m offer for utility player Kevin Grosskreutz, according to Metro.

The 26-year-old's versatility - he can play in defence and midfield - appeals to Gunners chief Arsene Wenger.

Wenger wants to add at least two more players to his squad before the transfer window closes on 2 February.

Grosskreutz has made five appearances for Germany and was part of Joachim Low's squad that lifted the World Cup in Brazil.

    United confident of Alves signing

Manchester United are confident of sealing a deal for Barcelona defender Dani Alves, according to reports in Metro.

The 31-year-old's contract at the Nou Camp expires at the end of the season and negotiations over an extension with the Catalan club have stalled.

Antonio Valencia has played the majority of the season at right-back and Louis van Gaal is looking for a short-term solution to United's defensive situation.

Alves' former Barca teammate Victor Valdes joined United earlier this month on an 18-month contract.

    United deny Dragovic bid

Manchester United have distanced themselves from a £15m move for Austrian defender Aleksandar Dragovic.

Reports in Austria last night claimed United had turned to Dynamo Kiev's Dragovic, 23, in their search for a centre-half and were plotting a January swoop.

But Mirror Sport understands the former Basel man, who has been capped 35 times for his country, is not on United's radar.

Inter planning audacious Yaya Toure bid

Roberto Mancini fancies a reunion with Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, according to the Daily Star.

The Ivorian has struggled to replicate the performances he showed in last season's title-winning campaign with the Blues.

When asked whether he would be at the Etihad next season, he is quoted as saying: "That's a big question and that's an easy question as well, and you have an easy answer: We'll see.

"I don't know. I'm at City. City is a great club where I've achieved lots of things."

Spurs' Chiriches in talks with Roma

The agent of Tottenham defender Vlad Chriches is in talks with Roma over a possible transfer, according to Gianluca Di Marzio.

Romanian Chiriches only joined Spurs 18 months ago but boss Mauricio Pochettino favours Federico Fazio and Jan Vertonghen ahead of him at the heart of Spurs' defence.

The emergence of youngster Eric Dier and DeAndre Yedlin's arrival from Seattle Sounders has seen him fall further down the White Hart Lane pecking order.

The Serie A side hope to tie up a deal for the 25-year-old within the coming days.

Only eight clubs could afford Pogba - agent

Paul Pogba's agent Mino Raiola says only eight clubs in world football could afford the midfielder.

The 21-year-old Juventus man would be "the most expensive player [in the world]" were he to be sold right now, claims Raiola.

"Let’s say that I am aware of the interest that there is around Paul, obviously, and without naming them, everybody that knows a little bit about football knows that there are only eight clubs that can afford him," he added.

"That’s the eight clubs that will get into the scramble or the battle to have him."

Raiola also moved to quash rumours that Pogba holds a dislike for former club Manchester United.

The Frenchman left Old Trafford for Juventus in 2012 after growing frustrated at his lack of opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson.

"Paul has always said he is not angry with Manchester United - you need to move on.

"So there is no personal grudge against Manchester United. On the contrary, he holds Manchester United very dear and has very nice memories."

    OPINION - Juan Cuadrado

While much of this summer was spent discussing the possibility of Arturo Vidal moving to Manchester United, fans of Fiorentina were concerned that their own South American World Cup star could become the primary target for the Old Trafford club.

Both players would eventually remain in Serie A, but while the chatter surrounding the Chilean midfielder has fallen silent, talk of a move for Juan Cuadrado has once again grown extremely loud.

But it is now Chelsea, rather than Louis van Gaal’s struggling side, who are being linked with the Colombian. The Blues have reportedly begun speaking to the Viola in hope of bringing the 26-year-old to Stamford Bridge in January. Their chances appear strong, particularly as it is now widely known that Cuadrado’s contract contains a buyout clause set at a reasonable €35million – a sum Chelsea can comfortably afford.

    Morrison to join Lazio

Ravel Morrison will join Lazio at the end of the season.

The 21-year-old has reportedly agreed terms with the Serie A outfit and just needs to sign finalise the deal by signing a contract.

Football's newest bad boy's career has yet to take off despite him being hailed as one of Manchester United's best ever youth products.

Rio Ferdinand claimed Alex Ferguson called Morrison "the best kid he's ever seen".

Lucas Silva on Real Madrid move

Lucas Silva has spoken for the first time since sealing a move to reigning European champions Real Madrid.

The 21-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half year deal with the Spanish giants, putting an end to months of speculation surrounding his future.

“It is a unique opportunity in life, a dream realised. I am very happy with this moment,” he told Spanish newspaper AS.

“My ascent inside Cruzeiro changed a lot of things in my life. From here the whole world could get to know me, see my ability, my football, myself and my behaviour in the club. The titles that we won were important for my growth.”

Cisse offered £150k-a-week - but not at Newcastle

Papiss Cisse has been offered a three-year contract worth £150,000-a-week by Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.

According to Metro, the deal would see him earn an income similar to that of Gareth Bale at Real Madrid.

The striker, who is currently on international duty with Senegal at the Africa Cup of Nations, currently earns around £30,000-a-week at Newcastle.

A fee of around £8m is being mooted.

    Arsenal didn't sign Ronaldo becaaaauuuse...

FIFA World Player of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo didn't sign for Arsenal because the cost of the Emirates stadium meant they couldn't afford him.

The Real Madrid goal machine was scouted by the Gunners but Ronaldo eventually signed for Manchester United in 2003.

Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo's agent, said the hefty cost of Arsenal's new stadium put pay to any chance of him joining Arsene Wenger's side.

In his new book, The Key to Mendes, he says: "There was a moment in which I really thought he was going to Arsenal.

"David Dein is a spectacular person but, with the construction of their stadium, they were left with very little money and it wasn't possible."

Ramos puts Premier League on red alert

Sergio Ramos has rejected a contract extension at Real Madrid, according to Metro.

The Spanish defender wants a big pay rise to stay at the Bernabeu but such an offer doesn't seem to be forthcoming.

Ramos, 28, is reportedly a target of Chelsea, Manchester United and Arsenal.

Agent: Man United are interest in Marquinhos

The agent of Paris Saint-German player Marquinhos claims Manchester United have registered an interest in the player.

Marquinhos, 20, has struggled for first-team opportunities this season following the summer arrival of David Luiz.

Agent Giuliano Bertolucci told Le Parisien: “A number of clubs are asking about him; Manchester United are amongst them.

“He respects the decisions of his coach but he simply wants to play more and spend less time with the substitutes.

“He’s ready to play right-back or defensive midfield if he must. He’s already done it with Roma and even Brazil.

“He will become the best defender in the world. He’s just as good as Thiago Silva and David Luiz.”

PSG value the player at a whopping €150m.

Fiorentina boss to QUIT if Cuadrado is sold

Fiorentina boss Vincenzo Montella has threatened to quit the club if Juan Cuadrado is sold this month, according to the Daily Express.

The 26-year-old is a reported target of Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho as he looks to strengthen his side for the Premier League run-in.

With Andre Schurrle and Mohamed Salah's futures in doubt, a £27m bid for Cuadrado's signature could be mounted.

Chelsea are also interested in Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Douglas Costa.

    Chelsea in for Stevie G?

Steven Gerrard will be offered a loan deal at Chelsea when he leaves Liverpool at the end of the season, according to Metro.

Last week Jose Mourinho joked that he would attempt to lure Gerrard to Stamford Bridge but that comment now looks to have had a serious edge to it.

The Reds skipper will join MLS side LA Galaxy in the summer but could fancy a return to the Premier League in an attempt to pick up that elusive Premier League medal.

Manchester City are also rumoured to want Gerrard to replace Frank Lampard when he moves to NYCFC at the end of the campaign.

    Roma agree Salah loan deal?

Roma have agreed a deal with Chelsea to take Mohamed Salah on loan until the end of the season, according to Goal.com.

The Blues will reportedly receive a £380,000 loan fee from the Italian giants.

Salah only joined Chelsea in 2013 but has struggled to convince Jose Mourinho that he deserves to start ahead of Brazilian winger William.

Roma have the option to make the move permanent in the summer for £12.7m.

Campbell seals Paulista deal for Arsenal?

Arsenal have offered Joel Campbell to Villarreal on loan in an attempt to persuade the La Liga club to part with defender Gabriel Paulista.

According to the Daily Express, former Villarreal man Santi Cazorla convinced Campbell that the deal would be good for him.

Campbell has spent time on loan at Olympiakos and Real Betis in the last two seasons.

    BIELSA ON HIS BIKE

According to reports in FourFourTwo, Marcelo Bielsa has declined the opportunity to commit himself to current club Marseille with his contract due to expire at the end of the season.

The former Argentina and Chile manager is said to be wanted by Japan and Saudi Arabia as they look to elevate their national side.

Bielsa said: "Such rumours are common during this time of the year. There is nothing new to say. I only speak of concrete facts and I will not confirm or deny this.

"All I can say is that both sides have agreed to this. As soon as the season ends, the contract ends. Will I stay at OM?

"I can't eliminate the possibility. But I can't confirm it either."

    CHAPLOW CAPTURE

Millwall have announced on their official website that midfielder Richard Chaplow is joining Ipswich Town on an emergency one-month loan.

The 30-year-old has been training with the Tractor Boys for the past few days after featuring just 10 times for the Londoners this season.

    DEAL FOR DANILO

Manchester United and Manchester City are among the clubs chasing Porto’s sought-after right-back Danilo, according to Spanish newspaper Marca.

The Brazilian, who scored for his side in their 1-1 Champions League draw with Basel earlier this week, is having a terrific season and has attracted admiring glances from some of Europe’s most prestigious clubs.
Barcelona and Real Madrid are rumoured to be keen on him – with Barca allegedly wanting him to replace Dani Alves – but it appears as though there will be competition for the 23-year-old.

He has 18 months left on his contract so Porto may choose to cash in now rather than lose him on a free transfer next summer, as he is being valued at around £18.4 million.
    15:53
    RACHUBKA JOINS ALEX

Crewe have signed Paul Rachubka on a deal until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old left Oldham in January and will be available for Crewe's trip to Barnsley in League One tomorrow afternoon.

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal's top transfer target is still Kevin Strootman, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The paper says the Red Devils boss will be keeping an eye on the Roma man's latest knee injury before going through with a deal which would cost over £40m.

    MOURINHO ON…MOURINHO

More from the Blues manager’s press conference, and Jose Mourinho says he is happy but in no rush over agreeing a new contract.

Speaking to the media ahead of his side's clash with Burnley tomorrow, Mourinho said he's not made plans to go anywhere else beyond the end of his contract in two years’ time.

"I want to stay. I think the club is happy too. I’m not waiting for offers, I’m not going to give any space for speculation or interest of other clubs."

    14:32
    MOURINHO ON TERRY

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho says John Terry understands the club’s stance on contract extensions for senior players.

The Blues skipper says he wants to stay but is happy to wait for negotiations, and Mourinho told reporters Terry knows he is only likely to get a one-year deal.

"I think he accepted our policy of after a certain age you go year-after-year and John accepted that with a smile and as a challenge.

"Last season he won the challenge by performing so well and he got the extension. Again this year he’s winning the challenge for another extension."

    14:18
    RETURN OF THE MAC

New Aston Villa manager Tim Sherwood's recruitment continues - Kevin MacDonald has returned to the club to be assistant manager.

MacDonald took caretaker charge of the club in 2010 after the departure of Martin O'Neill, and he leaves his role as a coach at Nottingham to move back to Villa Park.
    13:52
    BELLARABI COMMITS TO BAYER

Bayer Leverkusen winger Karim Bellarabi has committed his future to the club by extending his contract until 2020.

The Germany international told the club’s website he wanted to repay the faith shown in him by coach Roger Schmidt.

"I've taken a huge step forwards in my development under Schmidt this season. The sort of faith I have been shown by him is something I've never enjoyed before and I will do everything I can to pay him and Leverkusen back."
    13:28
    LIONS SNAP UP TAYLOR-FLETCHER

Millwall have signed forward Gary Taylor-Fletcher on loan from Leicester until the end of the season.

The 33-year-old links up with Ian Holloway, for whom he played at Blackpool when the Tangerines were in the Premier League, and is set to go into the Lions' squad for Saturday's Championship clash with Fulham.
