With AC Milan reportedly looking to bolster their defensive options in January, Branislav Ivanovic has emerged as a target for the Rossoneri, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan’s Serbian boss Sinisa Mihajlovic is thought to have drawn up a transfer wish list on which his compatriot Ivanovic features.

The 28-year-old defender’s contract at Chelsea expires in June, meaning the Blues could be prepared to take the final opportunity to cash in.

Alan Pardew is set to bolster his depleted attacking options at Crystal Palace in January, according to The Sun.

The Eagles boss was dealt a blow this week as on-loan Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford terminated his “terrible” loan and returned to Stamford Bridge.

It leaves Pardew with just Marouane Chamakh and Fraizer Campbell to lead the line, with Connor Wickham, Yannick Bolasie and Dwight Gayle currently out injured.

As a result, QPR hitman Charlie Austin and Chelsea’s Loic Remy have both been linked with moves to Selhurst Park when the window re-opens in two days' time.

Sky Sports understands Swansea City would be willing to sell striker Bafetimbi Gomis in January.

Gomis has been linked with a move from the Liberty Stadium in January, with reports suggesting the France international has attracted interest from the Middle East.

We understand Swansea would be prepared to let Gomis leave, however a move is dependent on the Swans receiving a substantial offer and finding a suitable replacement.

Aston Villa manager Remi Garde has confirmed he wants to sign Loic Remy in January.

The Chelsea striker is a loan target for Garde in the forthcoming transfer window, as the Frenchman looks to dig Villa out of their plight at the bottom of the Premier League.

"Loic is a guy I know well, of course it would be an interesting player for the team,” Garde said. “He is part of some players I'll try to attract to Aston Villa, for sure.

“Loic is a special one because he knows the country and the league. I have got some targets who could be at this level without knowing the country and the league."

    ICYMI: TOON FACE KOULIBALY BATTLE

Napoli will resist any approach from Newcastle for defender Kalidou Koulibaly, according to Sky Sports in Italy.

Newcastle have been strongly linked in the British media with a move for the Senegalese defender who moved to Napoli from Genk 18 months ago.

It has been suggested there is an 8million buy-out clause in Koulibaly's contract but his agent, Bruno Satin, has poured scorn on the rumours, indicating the 24-year-old is keen to remain with Napoli.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez has confirmed Steven Naismith's future will be decided over the next couple of weeks.

Norwich had a 7m bid for the Scotland international turned down in the summer, but Sky sources understand they are one of a number of clubs interested in signing Naismith in January.

Martinez told the club's official website: "We all know that Norwich showed their interest in the previous window and it was something that I am sure was going to come out again in January.

"Clearly in January we will sit down and know exactly what the future holds for Steven and what is in the best interests for both parties."
