Interim Swansea manager Alan Curtis has it was a "purely selection" decision that meant midfielder Jonjo Shelvey played no part in the Swans' 2-1 defeat at Manchester United.
The England international was left out of the match day squad and took part in a training session. But Swans boss Curtis said the move was after a poor performance in their 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace. "He played on Monday, for his standards it was a little bit disappointing," he said.
"We need Jonjo, even though we’ve left him out of the squad, but we need every player and Jonjo has terrific ability we all know that. We need him, he is going to be a part hopefully of what is going to be a huge end to the season for us."
