Forward-center J.J. Hickson reached a three-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, a person with direct knowledge of the agreement told USA TODAY Sports.
The person requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak publicly about the deal until it becomes official after the free agent moratorium ends July 10.

Hickson averaged 12.7 points and 10.3 rebounds for the Portland Trail Blazers where Hickson flourished in 1½ seasons. Hickson had a career-high in rebounds and shooting percentage (56.2%) last season.
Hickson adds more frontcourt depth alongside Kenneth Faried, JaVale McGee and Darrell Arthur.
